Kansas City provides weekly trash collection service to eligible residences and other housing units including bi-weekly curbside collection of recyclable materials and a limit of two bags of trash per week without tags. Trash Tags may be purchased for $1 each at most Westlake Ace Hardware and Price Chopper locations.
All items to be collected must be placed in bags or disposable boxes weighing no more than 40 pounds each, or tied in bundles no more than 4 feet long.
RecycleFIRST is Kansas City’s residential curbside recycling program. The program is free and there is no need to sign up to participate. The recyclables are picked up at the curb every other week.
